1) Select the right tools and equipment’s
The easiest way to fit curtains is to use tension curtain straight rods that can easily adapt to both ends of the wall. It also removes the need to purchase curtain brackets. Tension rods are much cheaper than regular curtain rods in India. However, if you have a regular rod, you will have to drill and make the adjustments.
2) Adjust the size of the metal curtain track for your bay window
You can bend it around your bay window and take measurements using scales and a pencil. You will have to use multiple straight rods if your bay window has more than 2-3 sections. After identifying the size, you can start with the installation process by using screws to fit the curtains in the two-piece track curtain rail/ brackets.
3) Measure 8-16 cm above the window frame
At this height, you will fit the curtain; once the measurements are done, drill the brackets in the measured area on both ends. Please remember the hole you drill should not be bigger than the size of the screw, or else it will not fit in properly. You can hammer it or use a screwdriver to lock the particular portion.
4) Placing the rod in the drilled brackets
You are almost there once you are done with the drilling process. Gently place the rod on the drilled brackets and check if it shakes or not. If it is firmly placed without any interruptions – then it means you have done well with the drilling process. Most motorised curtain tracks tend to be installed quickly. Get the curtains ready after finishing with this step.

5) Hanging the curtains
This would be one of the final steps; if you made it till here, well done. Keep the pair of curtains ready and gently slide it inside the curtain rod from both sides. Once the curtain is placed inside the rod and brackets, slowly move it left to right. After slowly moving it, increase the speed – this is just to check its firmness and reliability. If it moves smoothly without any stoppages, then congratulations as you have successfully fit a curtain.
